Innovative Therapists Int’l, Inc. (ITI) was founded in 1995 by Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson. Originally intended as a speakers bureau and a means to explore and communicate the potential benefits of oral-motor therapy, the company quickly grew beyond this basic concept to become a leader in the field. With the stated goal of “Educating therapists worldwide™,” ITI is constantly expanding its efforts and features numerous continuing education courses (presented both live and on DVD) and a growing library of books and instructional manuals. Today, the organization includes its own product brand (TalkTools®), a full-service clinic focused on the remediation of speech and feeding issues (SRJ Therapies™), and is heavily involved in research on oral-motor therapy for speech clarity and feeding safety.

When Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson founded ITI and began teaching her oral-motor therapy techniques, the therapists and caregivers attending her courses consistently expressed a desire for tools specifically designed to help them implement what they had learned. In response, she created the TalkTools® brand and developed a series of user-friendly products to correspond with her hierarchical approach to oral-motor therapy. Many of these items, including the original Horn and Straw Hierarchies and Jaw Grading Bite Blocks, are now household names in the oral-motor field and are available exclusively through TalkTools®. Through constant efforts to improve existing products and develop new tools to meet emerging needs, TalkTools® has positioned itself as a primary worldwide source for oral-motor, sensory, and feeding therapy supplies.

Located in Tucson, AZ, and founded by Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson, SRJ Therapies™ is a full-service clinic serving those with speech, oral-motor, and feeding disorders. A multi-modal approach to communication disorders and individualized treatment plans provide each client with the most effective therapy and best possible outcomes. For those who cannot make the trip to Arizona for assessment and therapy, “traveling clinics” are offered worldwide, featuring the same services and personal attention found at the SRJ Therapies™ home office. All of the therapists hold advanced degrees in speech and language sciences from nationally accredited universities, and all are certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Many are also trained in techniques including PROMPT, TAMO, NDT, HANNEN SOS, sensory processing, and feeding therapy.
